Is your lash enhancement serum making your eyes red or dry?

Most lash enhancement serums contain prostaglandins – the same type of medication that is in Latisse that makes our lashes get longer and darker. Recent research shows that in addition to the well-known pigment changes that prostaglandins can cause in and around the eyes, they are also linked to Ocular Surface Disease, or Dry Eyes. Is your lash serum causing your eyes to be dry?

Some common synthetic prostaglandins found in lash serums are:
Isopropyl Cloprostenate
Ethylcloprostenolamide
Methylamido dihydro noralaprostal
17-Phenyl Trinor Prostaglandin E2 Serinol Amide

These lash enhancement serums do NOT have any prostaglandins, and thus are less likely to cause dry eye:
Plain Jane Beauty, Lash Brilliance
Majestic Pure EyeLash Wonder System
Priori Lash Recovery Serum (lipopeptide system)
Pure Clean Love Lash Growth Serum
Organys Eyelash & Eyebrow Growth Serum

Put your lash enhancement serum to the Dry Eye Test!
